So off I went to set up my account and give it a try. My immediate reaction was “hmmm no 800 or 888 numbers, so I guess I will still need to keep my Phone.com account for that..”. I guess that is not to bad, but what’s a business supposed to do if they want an 800 number? Don’t worry I am not selling phone sex here, just looking for a real solution for my life. So far I have not seen any “Premium Features” but maybe the option of an 800 or 888 number will be one someday. I did notice that once you set your Google Voice phone number, if you wanted to change it you will be charged a one time fee of $10.00, I picked a decent number though so I am ok.
I would suggest watching the about videos Google has set up for this service located at http://www.google.com/voice/about if you are interested in this service. The first video shows you what the service is about, you should watch it. You can sign up for an invite there as well if you want one. I will let you know more about what I think of the service as I use it more.
